While mentorship cannot prevent every individual from experiencing hardships from living life in a cult, effective therapy, support, and resources can make a significant difference in an individual’s future outcomes in both of the situations listed. Like all youth, at-risk youth are still dreamers and have desires and aspirations for their life even though it may be hard to see past circumstances. We must not forget about these youth. All youth should become whom they want to be regardless of their circumstances and adverse experiences. Constantly living in such experiences can hinder and stunt aspirations, desires, growth, self-worth and esteem, and outlook on life. This is further crippled when there is a lack of external support, relateability, and understanding. When youth are equipped with the tools and resources to help them overcome and evolve beyond adverse experiences, overall life outcomes are better for the individual and those around them, molding a solid foundation that can penetrate generations to come. The same can be said for individuals that make it out of a cult. To ensure proper resources and support are available for all youth and individuals, The Grooming Alchemist was founded. When people are supported, have mentors, and partake in resource opportunities, they have far greater success in achieving positive outcomes. Positive social connections, mentors, and enrichment activities have all been shown to enhance outcomes for all people.
